Film session from The Dreamer That Remains
Encinitas, 1972

IIn spite of the artful nature in some sections of the portrait/documentary The Dreamer That Remains, there are a number of scenes of Partch that do capture his spirit, especially when recalling earlier times from his life. Shown here, Harry is at the Kithara, performing the musical setting of a letter from a hobo pal, Pablo, known simply as The Letter. This documentary, the full title being The Dreamer That Remains - A Portrait in Loving in Partch's full score, is available from Composers Recordings Incorporated, and is surely one of the best ways to get a glimpse at Harry as he interacted with the people and the world around him, albeit at the end of his life.
